Connecting and collaborating First Nations Businesses

Victoria Cross is supporting First Nations businesses in the retail precinct and the Community Hub, thanks to a ongoing partnership between Lendlease and local First Nations businesses.

We commissioned Tylah Saunders, a Gundtijmara artist, to produce a contemporary artwork for Victoria Cross Stage 1 temporary activation. the activation will include public seating and a coffee cart managed by our social enterprise lobby operators, Two Good Co.

Jeweler and designer Ebony Birks is a proud descendant of the Kamilaroi and Dunghutti people. She takes artistic inspiration from an enduring sense of identity and personal relationship to country. Using recycled Australian precious metals, Ebony's brand aims to demonstrate the significance of the environment, maintaining sustainable craft practices. Ebony's public artwork will be featured in the Victoria Cross laneway.

Preserving stories of the Cammeraygal people

Hosted a Design Jam with Yerrabingin blended First Nations wisdom with modern design thinking for the lobby and public areas.

Through a Placemaking Workshop, we uncovered best practice country-centred design. 

Local design company Balarinji and First Nations artist Bibi Bara created 'Saltwater Dreaming', an artwork displayed throughout construction.
